It all boils down to passion and what truly fuels my creative spirit.
While snapping shots of people used to light me up, I started feeling a shift in my creativity after a while. Or rather, a lack of creativity. Shooting portraits can be a solid business, but it didn’t keep me inspired for the long haul. Plus, there’s a sea of photographers doing the same thing nowadays. I’m all about standing out and doing things my own way! This shift allows me to set the rules in my new creative journey and call all the shots.
I’ll still be capturing scenic views and wildlife, but they won’t be stealing the spotlight in my business anymore. Again, I’m all about doing things a tad differently from the rest. There are loads of talented landscape and wildlife photographers out there killing it. If I wanted to compete, I’d have to spend ages editing my shots and invest in some seriously pricey gear, which isn’t on the cards right now.
So, I’ve decided to follow my heart, just like I always have, and dive into an area of photography that’s been a constant source of healing and creativity for me: Abstract Waterscapes. Abstracts have always intrigued me, and being near the water has a magical way of washing away my worries and filling me with inspiration. I hope to capture this essence in my photography and pass it along to my customers as they connect with my artwork.
By redirecting my business focus towards endeavors that not only fuel my creativity and facilitate healing but also grant me complete creative autonomy. This pivotal shift emphasizes my desire to offer an authentic and truly one-of-a-kind experience to my customers through my artwork.
This type of art is not for everyone and I know that. I’m creating it first for me and then for the people that are going to love it as much as I do in creating it.
