I’m Lynn Stevens, a visual artist and the creator of Liquid Artistry, a unique genre of abstract water photography. With 30 years of experience blending self-taught techniques and a diploma in Professional Photography, I’ve honed my craft into something extraordinary.
My work captures the raw energy and fluid motion of water through macro and close-up photography, transforming its intricate movements into immersive, painterly compositions. At this intimate level, each piece resonates differently with the viewer, evoking feelings of calm, connection, or vitality. Created using natural light and free from digital enhancements. As an Artist, I strongly believe that the emotional connectivity between my art, water, and mental wellness, has the power to bring a similar level of calm and healing to its viewers as it has for me in creating it. By sharing my art, I hope to inspire others to explore the healing powers of water and nature that surround us.
Photography became a way for me to navigate my own chronic pain. It became a practice of slowing down, observing, and finding calm within movement.

Why Our mental health matters

In today’s nonstop culture filled with endless noise and demands, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and disconnected. Slowing down and pausing isn’t just a luxury, it’s essential for our survival and well-being.
My work creates a space to do just that: to rest your eyes, invite stillness, and awaken your imagination through natural light and moving water.
Science shows that being near water or even simply viewing images of it can reduce stress, calm the nervous system (which plays a key role in chronic illness and pain), lower heart rate, and ease mental fatigue. This calming response is called the “Blue Mind” effect a natural state of relaxed awareness that helps us slow down and heal.
